The Soil for Growth

In a short nine days, I leave this yoga teacher training.

And what's the one thing I keep telling myself?

Take this discipline home with you.

Discipline is like the soil for growth.

When my alarm goes off at 5:45am, I am not a happy camper. My mind immediately rationalizes why I should stay cozy, but I don't listen. I drag myself out of bed and on to my mat by 6:00am. And, you know what? By 6:15am, I'm already glad I did.

But, I do not underestimate that first 30 minutes.

IT IS HARD.

And if there wasn't a teacher waiting for me in the other room, I wonder if I'd let my mind win ... like I've done for so much of my unconscious life.

This yoga program has helped me remember what's truly important.

What kept me going all those years ago I was being abused.

My spiritual growth.
